4. What was your first encounter with graffiti?

Pretty early. I lived in Antwerp City and our streets has a lot of graffiti. And as a kid, I got inspired by the figures I saw, characters always sparked my interest. But even the letters, I was always very impressed with the letters too. The funny thing is I was always an inside kid, just drawing inside and I was happy with that. So I was never really a graffiti artist. I never went out to paint illegally because I didn't have a need for that, but at the same time, street culture always inspired me, like skateboard graphics. So graffiti always kinda sat there in the back of my mind when I was doing animation stuff. And then when my frustration with animation peaked, I kinda rediscovered it trough YouTube and watching a lot of these new artists paint. And I the idea of just going out painting whatever the fuck you want seems pretty cool to do.

Found that very first Lobster Robin piece, while digging the archives. Back in june 2018.

So one day I grabbed a couple cans and went out to a legal wall and immediately lost my heart to that the same day. And that summer, every weekend, I would just fill my bag with cans, bike around, and look for spots. It wasn’t about looking for danger or the idea of being caught. So that 1st summer in 2018, I just completely lost my heart and pretty quick, I had the chance to go to jams. And slowly work my way into the scene, after a couple of years I was already pretty well known in the Belgian scene.
So I was lost for a long time until I painted my first wall, and then life started making sense for me.
